Over the past few months it’s been great to see that my 39-45 Portraits Project has received attention from the Press because ultimately this means more focus and attention on our Veterans…

I guess it all kicked off with the opening day of the first 39-45 Portraits Project Exhibition that was held at the Soldiers of Oxfordshire Museum in Woodstock, Oxfordshire; an incredible day with so many Veterans present, family, friends and other invited guests I couldn’t have wished for anything more perfect.

It was so good to see so many people chatting, smiling and laughing. Medals were presented to unsuspecting Veterans, Thank Yous, Champagne was flowing, a specially created cake was devoured whilst surrounded by portraits of the most incredible, humble people.

The BBC were present on the day filming the occasion so with all the craziness that’s going on around the world at the moment, here’s a compilation of some of the footage that went out on Monday 21st October 2019 across BBC Midlands, BBC South and BBC South East, and a reminder that we will all come through this together…

Shortly after the opening of the exhibtion I was invited into the BBC Oxford Radio Studios to speak LIVE on Air with Broadcaster Ali Jones about the 3945 Portraits Project.

Huge thanks to the BBC for inviting me in and for helping to spread the word about the project and exhibition so that others become aware and which ultimately means more Veterans are their Families receive a portrait to keep forever…

Incredibly happy that the 3945 Portraits Project was also featured in the November 2019 issue of “Soldier” Magazine with a portrait of Veteran Leonard Trewin featured on the front cover and inside a 2 page spread featuring portraits of Frank Pendergast, Jeff Haward MM, Jack Ansell, Len Fox and Allan Scott DFM.

Was wonderful too, to see such a great article in the Express Online (Daily and Sunday Express) about The 3945 Portraits Project, the exhibition and the re-uniting of Jim Hooper and Denzil Cooper (Glider Pilot Regiment).
