Aston Martin Vantage V12 – Are you shooting for yourself???

Hi Folks,

Thanks for dropping in.

Hope all is good with you.

Today I just wanted to share a picture from a ‘for the fun of it’ shoot this past weekend when I was up in Halifax with my Buddy Kieron Nevison.

Whilst up there putting some planning time into the upcoming workshop, I really quite fancied making extra use of the time and photographing some cars having shot the Aston Martin a couple of weeks back; for no other reason than the sheer fun of it.

So, Kieron put the word out and lo and behold came up trumps well and truly with the Ford Capri 280 I posted on Monday [Link] and the chance to shoot an Aston Martin V12 Vantage.

Weather couldn’t have been better being dry with plenty of moody clouds so we headed out to the ‘Tops’ as they’re known locally which is basically high up on the country roads giving a superb view of the Yorkshire landscape below…Perfect!

I’ve mentioned before that I think it’s really important to take time to plan and shoot something for yourself on a regular basis; helps to keep you fresh, excited and of course by shooting something you don’t normally, just like me shooting cars, is a great way to keep in the learning zone.

So what about you…are you taking time to shoot for yourself? If so what kind of stuff? Are you shooting something completely different to what you normally do?

Actually whilst we’re having some good weather I really must make a point of hiring that big lens and getting out to photograph wildlife.

Have a great Thursday and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow.

I have ‘ME TIME’ my Motto – Take a Back Road!
I photography mostly portraits and weddings for pay but for my LOVE of photography it’s all about rustic outdoors.

I really love the car image! I want to work on more arranged photo sessions for my me time. Another goal I have. 😉

    Keep up the outstanding work!

I’m hopefully getting some done today, and also had a pop on Monday at trying to recreate the Ghoulies poster…not sure how that’ll turn out though, lol.

Trying to make some free time to get out and do some self portraits of me and my new found love of cycling. Believe it or not I make a living from photographing weddings and equestrian events with a few portrait shoots thrown in for good measure. I have some ideas for using OCF to balance against the sun with me and the bike in the middle. I can see the shot in my head, but just have to get out there and do it. Sorry for waffling on; I’m a big fan and love all your stuff Glyn. Will hopefully get to meet you soon at a seminar or something.

Hey Glyn, I’m trying to get a personal project done at least once a month. Most recent one I did was a mock movie poster as it brought together a number of different techniques (stuidio lighting, compositing, text etc) so was a good workout.

    take it easy
