Thanks for stopping by.
Hope all is well with you.
Ok so today I thought I’d share some images from a recent Female Fitness Promo Shoot and give you a looksie behind the scenes at the set up…
Regular readers of this blog may actually recognise the model in these shots as I’ve worked with Caroline Yandell in the past in workshops.
We’ve not worked together for a while now and in that time Caroline has taken up training, recently competed in her first Fitness Physique Competition and is now a Personal Fitness Instructor/Coach…how cool is that?!?
Just goes to show how making big changes in your life boils down to one thing…making the decision and going for it! Way to go Caroline!
Studio Set Up
The images from this shoot are to be used in Caroline’s advertising material (website, literature etc).
We opted for a clean white background as we felt it helped portray the healthy, fresh look she was after; here’s a look at how the studio was set up:
Real simple set up using just 3 lights: 2 to light the background and 1 to add some fill to the front. Great thing is that this set up means depending on how close Caroline was to the background she gets just enough light bouncing back onto her and giving the strip light effect on either side; less to set up = Result 🙂
Oh and of course a Light Meter is invaluable for this and for setting it up fast…especially as Caroline was also going to be wearing white gym wear too:
Retouching / Editing
Ok as for the editing, to be honest it was pretty much a beauty retouching workflow spending the majority of time working on skin (i.e. evening out skin tone, softening, dodging and burning), shaping the hair and removing fly aways; I’ll be recording a video showing a couple of the retouching techniques for posting next week so be sure to keep an eye out for that 😉
Right that’s all from me for today but if you have any questions or comments at all about this shoot (i.e. the set up, retouching) then please feel free to make use of the comments section below or drop me an email to email@example.com
In the mean time, whatever you’re up to have a good one and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow,
