If you’re a Photoshop user then it’s highly likely you would have caught yesterday’s BIG announcement from Adobe with regards to some rather major updates.
The updates are for Photoshop CC making this new version Photoshop CC 2015.5 (no idea why not 2016) but in case you missed some of what was being talked about yesterday, here’s a selection of videos for you to check out put together by Scott Kelby of KelbyOne but in addition to the updates shown below there’s lots more been done under the hood:
Select and Mask (Scott Kelby)
Face Aware Liquify (Scott Kelby)
Content Aware Cropping (Scott Kelby)
Match Font (Scott Kelby)
Third Party Plug Ins
The last time there was an update a few, actually more than a few, folks had issues with their 3rd Party Plug Ins (Nik, Topaz etc…) in that they didn’t copy over etc…
Well the advice here (for now) is to click on the Advanced Options when installing this new version of Photoshop CC and choosing not to overwrite earlier versions. This way at least you’ll still have access to them albeit in another version that you’ll have to jump to.
To help with the download and install of some of the most common 3rd Party Plug Ins, here’s a link to a list provided by Adobe: LINK
Also, check out Jeff Tranberry’s blog for more in depth detail of this very impressive update [LINK]
Finally on this subject, Adobe are working on a utility that will solve this moving of plug ins in the future, so watch this space.
That’s all for today so go download and install the new version and enjoy.
