This weeks episode of our He Shoots, He Draws podcast is a chat with our friend, Photoshop and 3D Wizard, Corey Barker.

I met Corey, as did Dave, through KelbyOne when it used to be called the N.A.P.P. (National Association of Photoshop Professionals) when he was one of the Photoshop Guys and from presenting at events such as Photoshop World in the USA.

For this episode I wanted to dive more into Corey before he worked at KelbyOne and how he was first introduced to Photoshop and also how he has approached learning Photoshop. Corey is one of these people that when they create a new image there’s always 2 reactions namely, “WOW” quickly followed by “What on earth made him think of using it like that?”. Corey explains this.

Corey also touches on something he’s currently working on that will revolutionize 3D and make it so much more easy to understand and do. This I cannot wait for because even though I’m a Photographer I’m seeing that in the near future 3D will play a part in my workflow. Why? Well, imagine if there was some item you wanted to include in a picture; a prop, some clothing, anything but it’s proving hard to source or is way too expensive. Imagine being able to easily create it in 3D and then add it into your 2 dimensional picture and for it to look completely real. They do it in the movies, why not in our pictures? Just the thought of this blows my mind!
