Well I thought I’d round the week off with a mix of news and ‘stuff’ so to kick things off here’s a couple of dates for the diary:
Scott Kelby is coming London!!!
If there was ever a date to plant firmly in your diary then this is it…Friday 15th October 2010, when Scott Kelby and his team from the N.A.P.P. are finally coming over to the UK with his “Photoshop for Photographer’s Tour”. This is the most popular of Scott’s workshops and is here in the UK for one day only at the Islington Business and Design Centre.
This workshop is 100% Guaranteed to sell out, and fast, so be sure to head over and find out more and secure a seat by clicking on this link.
Hope to see you there 🙂
Zack Arias and the OneLight Workshop comes to the UK!!!
Spending time with Zack Arias last year and taking part in his OneLight Workshop in Atlanta was a pivotal moment in my Photographic career and a time that I’ll never forget, so having Zack and his team come to the UK I just know will have a positive impact on those fortunate enough to attend.
Zack will be teaching for one day in London on Saturday 11th September 2010 and then one day in Newcastle Upon Tyne (home of his beloved Newcastle Brown Ale) on Saturday 18th September 2010. These dates will definitely sell out, and that’s if they haven’t already by the time you read this so if you’d like to fill one of the few spaces available then waste no time and head over to book your place:
London (September 11th) click here.
Newcaste Upon Tyne (September 18th) click here.
If you can’t make it to the Workshop itself then why not head over to London the night before for a pint (or 2) where everyone’s welcome to come along and hang out with the man himself; I’ll be there so I hope you can join us 🙂
Friday Photography Tip:
For this weeks tip / tutorial I’m going to leave you in the very capable hands of my good friend A.J. Wood who runs Media Cats, a Digital Media Training Company based in Dallas, Texas and who this week posted a video on his blog about adjusting White Balance in both Lightroom and Adobe Camera Raw. The video is actually a follow on from one of his earlier posts discussing the practical use of RAW and JPEG files so I’d recommend you take a tip over to his blog and have a read of that too.
In the meantime though, A.J. it’s over to you…
I think as photographer’s we can all at times suffer from ‘Gear Envy’ and wanting to buy the next piece of kit that’ll be the supposed answer to our dreams. However, that being said, how well do you know your kit? Can you honestly say that you know it’s limitations and so can justify buying that next softbox or lens?
Larry Becker, Executive Director of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (N.A.P.P.) wrote a post on his blog this week covering this very subject which he titled “Do what you can with what you’ve got” and it makes a great read so I’d certainly recommend you head over and take a look by clicking this link (it may just save you a pretty penny)
Ok so that’s all for now so have a great weekend and I’ll catch up with you soon,
