Anyone who knows me, will know how much of a fan I am of Arnold Schwarzenegger; something that started as kid when first seeing Hercules in New York and following through my time as a competitive Bodybuilder and beyond.

So, on the subject of Arnold Schwarzenegger I thought it would be fun to recreate this poster from a series created for the recent Terminator Movie, Genisys.

Rather than photograph someone dressed as Arnold I decided to buy invest in a Hot Toys model and man is it good; the detail is insane…

So over the coming posts I’m going to take it step by step from beginning to end to recreate the Terminator Genisys poster, starting with the photography and through the retouching. Should be a great exercise to show the entire process including working through how to overcome certain issues like: creating the glowing eye, the hair etc…

Now talking of the photography we’ll start with reverse engineering the original poster, so tomorrow we’ll take a look at how we’ll do that and then what I’ll be using to light and photograph the Hot Toys model.

In the mean time fancy having a go at reverse engineering the lighting in the poster?

Catch you next time,
