Go Low: Hiding Backgrounds in your Portraits

It’s amazing how different a location becomes when you change not just your camera position but also the height.

In the picture below you can see the only location I had to take the portrait of Sheep Farmer Donald where there was a flat section of dry stone wall; everywhere else meant being on a steep incline…

The background behind Donald as you can see was farm buildings, equipment etc but just by lowering the camera height this is easily eliminiated…

So just a brief blog post to say that when you think you don’t have a good background it might not be the case; going lower can make a world of difference.
