Ok so at last weekend was the first ever of my Two Day Intensive Courses, where on Day 1 the attendees were split into two groups and given a number of photography assignments to complete.
The assignments are designed to make attendees work through the planning and preparation process of a photo shoot; a process that those of you who are regular readers of this blog will know is something I discuss a lot!
One of the groups’ assignments was to photograph Benson James – Fitness and Wellness Coach that I’ve worked with before but rather than simply take a photograph of him, they had to come up with something simple that fitted his mantra of “Love the Process”. Above is the photograph I took having helped the group with the set up but I daren’t repeat what it was I said to Benson to get this reaction 🙂
The group were coming up with all sorts of great ideas having first been introduced to Benson and then taken the time to walk around the gym (Pegasus Gym, Aylesbury) where we were for the day, to decide on where to shoot.
Once they’d decided on a few ideas they then sat again with Benson to discuss what their plans were and most importantly to see if they fitted in with how he wanted himself to be portrayed and to gain some feedback and suggestions – without doubt THE most important part of the whole planning process!
This weekend I’ll be recording a video going through the retouching steps for this picture so be sure to check back for that.
In the mean time though have a fantastic weekend!
Catch you later,
