Friday already meaning the weekend is nearly upon us.
Hope you’ve had a good week.
Today I’ve a few things to share with you; some news, a new video tutorial and some work in progress.
Editor’s Choice on 500px
Really excited last night to have received an email telling me that one of my pictures had been selected as Editor’s Choice on 500px
500px is the premier site for Photographers from around the World to display their very best images.
Whilst you’re there be sure to have a good look around at some of the images from other photographers; there’s some incredible work out there!
N.A.P.P. Member’s Site
If you’re a member of the National Association of Photoshop Professionals (N.A.P.P.) I’ve a new 20 minute video tutorial over on the members’ website.
In this video I show a technique for increasing the size of the backgrounds in your photographs when there’s not much of a space to work with, plus some special effects for adding shadows and lighting.
You can check out the video tutorial here [Link]
Hope you like it 🙂
I’ve been a member of the N.A.P.P. from the very first day I began using Photoshop; it’s such an incredible resource for learning and community. If you’re not already a member I’d highly recommend it and if you’re looking to join or have any questions be sure to get in touch with my Buddy Dave Clayton who runs the NAPP Member UK website and is the official N.A.P.P. UK Evangelist as well as being a bloomin awesome chap 🙂
Work in Progress: Wolverine
Finally, here’s a sneak peek at another ‘work in progress’ I have on the go that when finished will be my own version of The Wolverine:
I’m a HUGE fan of the X-Men and Super Hero style movies which come to think of it probably dates back to when I was a kid and used to climb on our garage roof with red tights on my head pretending to be Spiderman…but the least said about that the better 🙂
The Wolverine movie is due to hit the big screens in around a couple of months so for a personal project I thought it would be cool to do my own version of one of the posters:
I do this kind of thing as often as I can…deconstructing posters and figuring out ways to recreate some of the effects; it’s a great way to keep yourself fresh and to keep in the learning mode.
Right that’s all from me for today so whatever you’re getting up to, have a fabulous weekend and I’ll catch you back here in a few days if not before over on Facebook.
