Hey Everyone,

Hope you’ve had a great week and are now looking forward to the weekend.

Today I’ve a few varied things to share with you: a personal project, a review and a behind the scenes video, so here goes…

Personal Project: I’ll Protect You
Fingers crossed the weather holds off tomorrow as I’m going to try again to head down to Colchester Zoo / Safari Park.

It’s been raining here all week as I think it has most places but I need to get down there and Photograph one of the African Elephants so I can get to work collecting all the pictures I need for a new project I’m working on.

Here’s a rough sketch I put together that will give you an idea of what it’s all about…

Sketching (admittedly quite badly) like this is something I’ll do just to give me a clearer idea of what it is I’m working on and helps to keep me focused so I know what I need to photograph.

I’ve decided to call this project I’ll Protect You because I’m kind of hoping it’ll make the viewer question as to who it refers to i.e. is it the HUGE Elephant saying he’ll protect the child OR is it the child saying she’ll protect the elephant by growing up and speaking out against poaching / cruelty etc ??? Sounds kind of ‘heavy’ I know but does that make sense?

Product Review: The Godox LP-800X Portable Battery Pack
One of the pieces of kit I’m using a lot these days is my new Godox Battery pack; I absolutely LOVE it but not just for the reasons you might think.

Check out this short video we recorded the other day and you’ll see what I mean 🙂

You can check out more details and also order a Godox Pack from The Flash Centre website here [Link]

Behind the Scenes: On Stage with Uli Staiger and Train to Create
On December 6th last year I joined my friend Uli Staiger on stage for a seminar in London for Train to Create.

The seminar was held the day before Uli’s Cinema4D workshop and was an absolute blast talking through motivation, inspiration, personal projects and of course Photoshop.

BIG thanks to the folks from Train to Create for inviting me in and for such wonderful hospitality!

Right that’s all from me for today so whatever you’re up to be sure to have a great weekend.

As well as heading to Colchester this weekend we’ll be spending time with close friends eating, drinking and lots of catching up…perfect!

Enjoy and I’ll see you back here in a few days,

    Hi Glynn.
I have the profoto D1 together with the profoto batterypack, and I have to agree in your observations.
The posibility to Work with your studio strobes (independent of brand)is a really nice option!

The new flashses such as Priolite and the profotoB1 also opens for a brand new way f working with flashes on location.

Graet blog by the way and nice toturials on your youtube channel.
