Friday already…so do you have anything planned?
I’ll be with my Buddy & Assistant Dave Clayton tomorrow for a full day of filming and planning for 2013…can’t wait!
Then in the evening it’s the return of the Curry Club or rather #curryclub 🙂
For now though I’ve a few things to share with you…
I mentioned earlier that I’ll be posting a B.T.S. (Behind the Scenes) look at what went into putting this picture together covering the lighting set up on location and then onto the editing in Photoshop.
I’ll be sure to have that on the blog early next week but for now I just wanted to say thanks for all the comments since I shared it across social media and my 500px and Fickr accounts. More than anything though I know members of the band have also seen the comments that have been posted and are, to use that good old English phrase “Chuffed to Bits” 🙂
So, keep an eye out for a couple of posts next week and also a video or two going through some of the Photoshop techniques.
If not then seriously…click away and go take a look!
Knowing Calvin as I do I’m sure he won’t mind me saying that this is the BEST retouching class he’s done to date! Lots of great tips, tricks and techniques as he takes you through the making of his recent ROCKSTAR picture; covering the lighting and photography part first and then through the entire retouching workflow.
You’ll not just love it, you’ll learn loads!

Recent Female Fitness/Physique Shoot
Next week I’ll also be sharing some images and a look behind the scenes at a recent Female Fitness/Physique promotional shoot.
Again I’ll give you a look at the whole set up and shoot plus I’m hoping to get a couple of video tutorials recorded showing some of the retouching.
Personal Project Shoot
On Sunday I’ll be in the studio for one of my personal project shoots.
Taking time out to spend time shooting for ‘me’ is something I do on a regular basis.
This is where I’ll kind of give myself a photography assignment and will go through the whole process from deciding on a theme/concept, researching it, organising props and sourcing models and then doing the shoot and finally retouching the pictures. I treat it as if it was a commission from a magazine and the reason I do this is so that I’m regularly pushing myself and regularly working on new pictures for my own portfolio.
Time races by, in fact as I’m getting older it seems to be going quicker so I always make a point of putting time in the diary each and every month to shoot for myself.
The theme for this coming Sunday revolves around cage/street fighting and now I know what we’ll be working on, we’ve two male physique models coming along, props have been sorted, moodboards and sketches all done I can’t wait to get started.
Sure thing I’ll share some of the results with you too.
Right that’s all from me so I’ll let you crack on.
Whatever you’re going to be up to, have a great weekend and I’ll catch you back here in a few days.
