Photography Workshop: Dates soon to be announced!!!

So after countless ‘testers’ I’m finally at the stage when I’m almost ready to launch my first Workshop.

Dates are yet to be finalised, however just to give you an idea of timing I’m looking at the very first ‘live’ Workshop being around the end of August, start of September. I’ll be posting a complete run through of the Workshop content here on the blog in the very near future plus costings, spaces available, who the Workshop is aimed at, locations and so on…

The ‘Tester Workshops’ have been extremely beneficial not only in telling me how my teaching style was being received but also in giving me a clear focus on what I want this Workshop to be. I’ve talked alot lately about the importance of having an ‘identity’ and a ‘unique style’ and this was something that Tim Wallace stressed in his recent Guest Post. The last tester I held in Amersham on the 8th May confirmed what my feelings had been all along, and that was to focus on my style of Photography covering 3 to 4 ‘looks’ and the workflow/editing involved as opposed to being a general lighting course. So, I would like to send out a BIG thank you to all off you who have attended and given me plenty of beneficial feedback.

I’m really excited about launching the Workshop. Alot of time and effort has been put in, and will continue to be to make sure this is a ‘Unique’ Workshop that I am extremely proud of and would want to attend myself.

Speak soon 🙂

Great news Glyn. If I still lived in Bucks I’d have loved to have attend one of the testers – all the shots you blogged looked great.

    Good luck!

Glyn- this sounds terrific and I wanted to extend all best wishes. If you ever make it back to the states for a work shop start up- count on having a place to stay in Houston.

Thanks for the heads up re: timing Glyn. I’ll have to block book out those weekends in my diary to make sure not to miss out on the premiere event 😉

I’m sure it will still be an evolving process once you go live but it sounds like you to me you’ll be reaping the benefits of all this planning and testing you’ve put in. Keeping the focus very narrow on some styles that you feel you can impart not only your knowledge but your enthusiasm into, will definitely help you enjoy it which lets face it is an important element to a successful event. The last thing you would want on a training event is someone who’s heart is not into teaching the subject (and I know you’ve experienced that as an attendee once before).

Although a late comer to your blog, I’ve been getting really enthused about your plans / aspirations regarding the workshops. – not only from a personal development opportunity for my own photographic skills / knowledge but also because it’s nice to see someone you “know” bring a personal project of theirs to fruition that you’ve been reading about.

Looking forward to seeing those final dates and learning more about it and if you need any more sounding boards to bounce idea’s off, we’re all here!

    All the best,

    David

@David…Totally agree with you. I’m sure each time we go through a workshop new things will be learned; what to do and what not to do etc… Must admit though I am rather excited about it 🙂

Thanks for the ‘suggestions’ and ‘thoughts’ so far…I’ve no doubt I’ll be calling on you again in the near future.

      Cheers,
      Glyn
