How’s it going?
Well I’m happy to report that I survived unscathed following yesterday’s post about why I’ve recently switched from Nikon to Canon 🙂
So today I wanted to make a quick mention about the PHOTOLIVE 2013 event happening in just under 2 weeks time in London.
I’m really looking forward to this new event and will be there all weekend as I’m teaching two, 2 hour sessions each day:
The Power of Compositing with Photography & Photoshop
Part 1: 11.00 – 11.45 + Q&A
Part 2: 12.00 – 12.45 + Q&A
Compositing or the art of placing a subject or subjects into a new scene is all around us; movie posters, billboards, magazines… compositing is everywhere. The skills and techniques required to combine all elements together to make one final picture tend to be considered only for the advanced Photoshop user, however. Join retoucher and photographer Glyn Dewis as he takes you through the entire process from concept to final image, showing how you too can create exciting, powerful composites fast, and so leaving time to learn tips, tricks and techniques for lighting effects, dodging and burning, special effects and much more.
Creating Character Portraits with Photography & Photoshop
Part 1: 15.00 – 15.45 + Q&A
Part 2: 16.00 – 16.45 + Q&A
Learn how to create portraits packed full of character in this session track with UK Photographer and Retoucher, Glyn Dewis. You’ll learn the lighting and set up but also creative Photoshop techniques that will enable you to produce character portraits in a short space of time from capture to final print. In a world where social media plays such an important role in creating a brand and a presence across the web, the role a portrait that capture a persons personality and character can’t be underestimated.
As well as the classes going on throughout both days there’s also the Expo Floor where you’ll find all kinds of related equipment too.
Tickets are still available for PhotoLive and can be purchased either on the day or in advance by visiting the main Photo Live website here [Link]
Right, must dash…off out this morning to check out a location for an upcoming Zombie Shoot and yeah that’s something I never thought I’d be saying 🙂
Have a good one and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow.
