Hope all is well with you.
Just wanted to give you a heads up about Issue 19 of Practical Photoshop magazine which is due to hit the shelves any day now.
In this next issue I’ve written a 7 page tutorial and also recorded a video going through all the retouching steps that went into my picture of Fitness Athlete Shaun Stafford.
In the tutorial as well as other techniques I cover a 2 part process that I use for cutting out people from their backgrounds. Refine Edge in Photoshop is pretty damn cool however do you ever find that when you’re using it to select all those extra stray hairs that it affects the selection you originally made of the subject’s body? Well in the tutorial I show how to work around this and get a great selection of the body and hair quickly and easily.
When it comes to the background for the final picture I wasn’t able to get out and find what I wanted so opted for the next best thing…making my own from parts of another photograph.
So I also show how you can manipulate a photograph that has kind of what you want and then using selections, transform, cloning and a few other tips and tricks, turning it into exactly what you want 🙂
With the magazine there’s a CD provided which has the video tutorial on it but also all the image files you’ll need if you want to work through the retouch as well; if you do then be sure to give me a shout…I’d love to see the results you come up with.
Hope you like the tutorial 🙂
Right that’s all from me for today so have a good one and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow,
