Hey Everyone,

Today I wanted to give you a ‘heads up’ about the up coming issue 27 of Practical Photoshop Magazine.

In this issue I have a full length tutorial PLUS video showing all of the Photoshop retouching steps that went into my BATTERED Picture:

This is a picture of Dave that I took at a one of my Dynamic Duo workshops a while back now and was actually one that I considered to be a throw away image; mainly because it was a quick test shot whilst setting everything up.

Crazy thing is, once set up and I’d taken all the pictures I wanted, I still preferred the expression in this one so ended up doing nothing with it for quite some time. Anyway, long story short a few weeks back now I decided to give it another look and have a play to see what I could come up with an this was the final result:

Having an image right ‘in camera’ before heading over to Post Production should always be the goal but for those times when that isn’t the case, there’s a lot we can do in Lightroom, Camera RAW and Photoshop to give life to an image; of course in this case I’m referring to ‘exposure‘.

In this full length tutorial there’s lots of tips, tricks and techniques that I cover including:

  • Camera RAW to enhance Detail and Exposure
  • Body Shaping Techniques
  • Dodging and Burning
  • Adding Fake Bruises
  • Adding Smoke
  • Lighting Effects
  • The Cartoon / Painterly Look

As always if you have any questions or comments then please feel free to make use of the comments section below or mail me direct to glyn@www.glyndewis.com, but in the mean time have a great Thursday and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow.

Enjoy,
Glyn
