How’s it going?
Today I just want to mention about a recent personal project shoot.
Regular readers of this blog will likely be aware how important I think it is to book your own personal project shoots into the diary; how it helps to keep you fresh, excited, motivated and so on…
So with Halloween fast approaching a Zombie themed photo shoot just had to be done and as if by magic my friend Gary Nicholls knew exactly who to speak to.
So, last Saturday I headed over to Welwyn Garden City, met up with Gary and then to the studio we’d booked out for 4 hours to shoot Zombies…and that’s something I never thought I’d write 🙂
Here’s a portrait of Gary that I took as I was putting together one of the lighting set ups…
You can check out a larger version over on my 500px portfolio page here [Link]
The time in the studio was a blast and it was great to catch up with Gary again and chat over coffee before and after. By the way, this is Gary who wrote the post “The Day my Photography Life Changed” on Friday of last week. If you missed it you can check it out here [Link]
Once I’ve retouched the main images from this shoot I’ll post them here on the site but will also give you a run through of some of the lighting set ups to give you an idea as to what was used, where and why; that’ll likely be next week as I’ll have images ready for Halloween. On that subject, what about you? Do you have something planned for Halloween? A personal project maybe?
Oh and with regards to the portrait of Gary at the top of this post I’ll be recording a tutorial showing how that was done too.
Right must dash; busy day ahead with a photo shoot later this afternoon and also recording material for new tutorials but before then I’m off to the framers to get another print ready to hang on the walls 🙂
Whatever you’re up to today, be sure to have a good one and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow.
