Hey Everyone,

How’s it going?

Ok so following on from yesterday’s Wolverine in London picture, for today’s Quick Post I have a ‘Making of” video to share with you.

In this video, which is about 20 minutes long, I give you a look into the idea behind the picture, collecting all the photographs for the scene, the studio shoot including the lighting set up and then finally moving on to give you an overview of the retouching steps in Photoshop by going through all the layers.

Hope you like it and find it useful.

As always if you have any questions or comments then feel free to make use of the comments section below or drop me an email to glyn@www.glyndewis.com

Have a good one and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow.

Enjoy,
Glyn

Great video Glyn. Ill have to try a few of these ideas myself. I use Silver Efex high structure smooth all the time for straight BW images, and also use a BW layer on soft light or low opacity in Photoshop. Never thought of using it the way you did here.

I only found out about the rain from Calvin Hollywood last week. A nice addition to CS6. Until last week, I always did it the old fashioned time consuming way using motion blur and noise.

Ive found when I do rain even with splashes, the model doesn’t quite look right as he/she doesnt look wet in the clothing or skin.

Thank Glyn! I appreciate the video… It is so very helpful. Now I just need to go out and shoot some backgrounds. That seems to be my hardest thing is to figure out what background I want to put behind my subject.

Great video, Glyn. I learn about a new feature – or a new way to use an old feature – in PS just about every time I watch one of our videos. See you next week in Orlando!

    Excellent – really informative.

Your attention to detail is what makes these images stand out as having been created by a ‘pro. So thanks for sharing how you created it.

More please —- when you have time.
