Hope you’re enjoying the extra long weekend.
Been up to much or making the most of the time to relax?
Me? Last Friday I was on location photographing a local Tree Surgeon (Morgan Rees) for his new promotional material.
I’ll be posting the final image later this week including a walk through and some of the planning and preparation but just to give you a sneak peek…
I’ve mentioned mood boards and how much of a big deal they are for helping with a photo shoot a few times before; I use them all the time be it for a personal project or a commission.
Creating a mood board and then discussing it with Morgan before the shoot meant that on the day we were ready from the off; we knew exactly where we were shooting, what tree we were going to be using, the direction I would be shooting from, the equipment we needed and so it goes on…
The sole purpose of this shoot was to produce just one final picture and that’s what I’ll be finishing off later today.
The idea which you can probably see from the mood board is to make it look as though Morgan is a lot higher than he really was on the day of the photo shoot; although if I’m honest it felt high enough to me 🙂
As for the backdrop ordinarily I shoot my own backgrounds but because of the time of year the tree’s are pretty much naked at the moment so it meant heading over to a stock site for some greenery; in this case iStockphoto.
I’ll post a walk through of this photo shoot in a little while but for now that’s all from me for today so enjoy the rest of the Easter break and I’ll catch you back here tomorrow,
