YouTube Channel: Your thoughts needed

I just wanted to say a HUGE Thank You to each and everyone of you that tune in, Subscribe to and watch the videos I post each week on my YouTube Channel.

Hearing from folks either by email or sharing a post on social media about how useful the videos are definitely adds to the enjoyment of putting the videos together that’s for sure.

As I’m sure you can imagine, it’s quite a commitment to produce a weekly video (yes I do all the filming and editing myself) so at this point to now be about to post episode 73 feels like a real achievement; especially when I started out a few people suggested I’d only manage a few episodes before it all came too much to stick to.

Truth be told, producing the weekly videos is as beneficial to me as it is to those of you who tune in. It’s kind of like when I first started out and set up this blog. The reason wasn’t necessarily to write content for others at first, but more of a commitment to myself to HAVE to produce content each week, which in turn forced me to get out and organise photo shoots continually. This commitment certainly helped me to grow as a photographer by constantly shooting as opposed to every now and then; does that make sense?

Anyway, back to the YouTube Channel…

As more and more videos are added (there’s over 200 in total on there now) I wanted to know what you would like to see, to make it easier to find a video covering a specific topic. I created playlists a few months back but are these enough? What categories do you think would make it easier for you to find stuff?

I want to make sure that the channel as well as containing lots of information, also makes it as easy as possible to find so any of your advice / thoughts were would be great.

Thanks again and thanks for subscribing.

Hi Glen, I have been watching your tutorials since day. You ran out of fingers a long time ago.

Since watching your tutorials I have been dabbling in composting and have found your techniques helpful. I continually apply your suggested lighting effects.

I am happy with all that you produce, but have an interest in tutorials that ‘sell the fake’.

Hope this helps. Thanks for sharing your knowledge

Hi Glyn, I have had a mull which included exploring your You Tube page. I feel you have got it pretty well nailed there. I searched by putting in say Glyn Dewis Selections and it threw up various tutorials to explore. Plus some other key words.I check out your playlists which are very comprehensive.

I have also cross checked to other photographers and yours seems to be up there at the top for sourcing particular videos. On You Tube itself I can’t see how you can make it easier..
The only thought that occurs to me is within the description that lists the techniques a given video cover. For example masks, blending modes, layer styles, selection pen tool etc. In saying that it adds to the time producing new videos let alone dealing with your back catalogue. Ray
If you do think that is worthwhile add a link to your book on your back catalogue.
