DO THIS for PERFECT COLOUR 🌈 in your PHOTOGRAPHS

Accurate colour matters in both photography and video, and getting it right doesn't have to be complicated. In this short video I show how I use the Calibrite ColorChecker Passport Duo to do exactly that. The whole process comes down to taking one extra photograph with the ColorChecker and then a few clicks in Lightroom, which gives you a reliable starting point for the colour in the rest of your images.

COLOR SPACE for PHOTOGRAPHY 🌈 WHAT to use, WHY and WHEN ( Keeping it SIMPLE )

Colour is a huge topic, and colour spaces are one of the parts of it that cause the most confusion. Here I keep it simple and explain sRGB, Adobe RGB and ProPhoto RGB: what to use, why you'd use it and when. I cover which to choose for editing, for printing, and for the web and sharing, so you get the very best and most consistent results from your photographs wherever they end up.

Look Up Tables (LUTs): THIS is what you're doing WRONG! How to MAKE, SAVE, EXPORT and EDIT

A few weeks ago I shared a video on my YouTube Channel showing how to install and use Look Up Tables (LUTs) in all versions of Lightroom, per it Lightroom Classic, Lightroom, Lightroom Mobile and Lightroom on the Web.

Following on from that I did get a few questions asking about problems using LUTs in Photoshop with error messages being thrown back and images being made to look, well, awful.

So, here’s a video I’ve put together to show how to Make, Save, Export and Edit LUTs without any errors.

Enjoy

I'd previously shared a video showing how to install and use Look Up Tables (LUTs) in every version of Lightroom: Lightroom Classic, Lightroom, Lightroom Mobile and Lightroom on the web. Following on from that, I had a few questions about problems using LUTs in Photoshop, with error messages being thrown up and images being made to look, well, awful. Here I show how to make your own LUTs by saving and exporting them correctly, how to make them editable, and what to do if it all goes wrong.
