💥 DOING THIS will REDUCE NOISE in your pictures: CLEVER feature in Photoshop 👊

This is such a great technique in for reducing / removing noise in your photographs using Photoshop, no matter what camera you took with them.

No Filters. No Plug Ins. No Magic Settings. Just a great use of technology already in Photoshop...you just need to know where to find it!

Enjoy,
Glyn

The technique takes knowing your camera and at what ISO noise would appear but. It can be used on scenes and also people (not moving). Great for Astro reducing noise in the skies that high ISO would introduce.

Some folks have said why not just use a low ISO and drag the shutter? Fair comment for 'some' situations but when photographing a person you obviously wouldn't want to do that; best to take the required shots in burst / continuous which could be done in less than a second in most cameras these days as opposed to using a low ISO and getting the subject to stand like a mannequin for a prolonged period of time.

Also great for those times when a tripod can't be used in a Church for example. You could handhold a burst of photographs at high ISO then use this technique to reduce / remove the noise.

So much you can do with this technique that I'll be do in some videos in the coming weeks 👍

Quick Tip: Converting your iPhone HEIC Photos EASILY with Mac

Can’t take credit for this great little tip; saw it posted on Facebook by Rufus Deuchler (Director, Worldwide Creative Cloud Evangelism at Adobe)

Up until I saw this yesterday I’ve been opening images from my iPhone into Photoshop, resizing them and then saving them out for posting on my website etc..

No longer going to be doing that from now on though, because of this…

Right-Click on the file then Quick Actions > Convert Image

You can then choose a file format to convert the file to (JPEG, PNG, HEIF ) and an Image Size.

That’s it!

Quick huh 😃

Again, thanks to Rufus for sharing the tip on social media.

Cheers,
Glyn

I DID IT 🌳 I used my DRONE to photograph this INCREDIBLE Lone Tree (Settings + Editing)

Using a Drone for Photography is FANTASTIC! So many new and unique compositions!

In this video I finally photograph an incredible tree that would have been impossible to do on foot BUT thanks to my Drone it became possible! I go through the Drone Camera settings and then dive into Lightroom to create a HDR and finally into Photoshop and jump in and out of Topaz Studio 2 to create a painterly effect.

Hope you enjoy it

🏰 I TRANSFORMED my friend into a DISNEY Character using Photoshop

Updates in Photoshop are making tricky / lengthy edits quicker!

Here's how I transformed my friend into Carl from Disney's UP Movie in just a few minutes using a combination of Neural Filters, Liquify and Masking.

In the description part of the video no Youtube, I’ve included a link so that you can download the file and follow along 👍

💥 POWERFUL Blending and Compositing function in Photoshop that you MIGHT have missed! 😲

With so many updates, it's very easy to miss stuff in Photoshop such as this incredibly POWERFUL and USEFUL function for blending layers together, changing composition and compositing.

Auto Blend Layers … do you really know how good it is?

Photoshop Virtual Summit 4 - FREE PASS

Chuffed to bits to be one of the 20 Instructors at the next FREE Photoshop Virtual Summit which runs from 2nd May - 6th May 2022.

The past online events have been a huge success and in so many cases a great distraction and learning experience during the past couple of years because of you know what.

As with the previous summits there’s a line up of 20 Instructors which translates to 40 Photoshop Classes and over 30 hours of content.

Also (like before) there’s a FREE PASS available and an Early Bird Price (until 2nd May) of $99 (£75 approx) for the VIP PASS

I don’t know how Dave and Marlene Cross puts this together but 'hats off’ to them; especially as for the next few weeks I know they’ll be flat out making sure this event runs as smoothly as the previous ones.

I'M ADDICTED!!! 📷 Long Exposures by the Sea (HOW TO) BASIC to BEAUTIFUL 😍

It's incredible how using a long exposure can completely transform the look and feel of a location.

In this video I take you through the Photography showing how a 30 second long exposure can smooth out waves to create a glass like surface, to the retouching in both Lightroom and Photoshop, also showing how to make selections and cuts with one slider.

Enjoy,
