I LOVE Long Exposure Photography BUT what do you do when you're out with your camera and have NO Neutral Density Filters with you? Well, here's a GREAT TECHNIQUE for creating a Long Exposure Effect by combining a number of images together in Photoshop and using a Smart Object and the Median Stack Mode. Quick. Easy and VERY Effective!
❓WHO is Glyn Dewis and WHAT is this CHANNEL❓
At the beginning of the year, one of my priorities and things I wanted to spend more time on developing was my YouTube Channel, and over the past (almost) 6 months I've thoroughly enjoyed it.
I'm having so much fun putting videos together the way that is 'me' and each week learning and trying something new to add to the production value.
One thing that's been missing though is a Trailer; something that in 60 seconds or less tells folks that haven't subscribed, the WHO, WHAT, WHERE, WHY, WHEN and HOW of me and what the Channel is all about, but yesterday I put some time aside and did it…
Hope you like it 😉
✅ SUPERB technique for REMOVING STUFF in your pictures and making it DISAPPEAR
This is a SUPERB way to remove distractions in your photographs. In this video I'll show you step by step how to get superb results removing stuff like people and vehicles (or anything else that moves) quick and easy using Smart Objects and Stack Modes, that would be impossible using regular tools in Photoshop like the Clone Stamp Tool and Content Aware Fill.
💥 DOING THIS will REDUCE NOISE in your pictures: CLEVER feature in Photoshop 👊
This is such a great technique in for reducing / removing noise in your photographs using Photoshop, no matter what camera you took with them.
No Filters. No Plug Ins. No Magic Settings. Just a great use of technology already in Photoshop...you just need to know where to find it!
Enjoy,
Glyn
The technique takes knowing your camera and at what ISO noise would appear but. It can be used on scenes and also people (not moving). Great for Astro reducing noise in the skies that high ISO would introduce.
Some folks have said why not just use a low ISO and drag the shutter? Fair comment for 'some' situations but when photographing a person you obviously wouldn't want to do that; best to take the required shots in burst / continuous which could be done in less than a second in most cameras these days as opposed to using a low ISO and getting the subject to stand like a mannequin for a prolonged period of time.
Also great for those times when a tripod can't be used in a Church for example. You could handhold a burst of photographs at high ISO then use this technique to reduce / remove the noise.
So much you can do with this technique that I'll be do in some videos in the coming weeks 👍
Quick Tip: Converting your iPhone HEIC Photos EASILY with Mac
Can’t take credit for this great little tip; saw it posted on Facebook by Rufus Deuchler (Director, Worldwide Creative Cloud Evangelism at Adobe)
Up until I saw this yesterday I’ve been opening images from my iPhone into Photoshop, resizing them and then saving them out for posting on my website etc..
No longer going to be doing that from now on though, because of this…
Right-Click on the file then Quick Actions > Convert Image
You can then choose a file format to convert the file to (JPEG, PNG, HEIF ) and an Image Size.
That’s it!
Quick huh 😃
Again, thanks to Rufus for sharing the tip on social media.
Cheers,
Glyn
I DID IT 🌳 I used my DRONE to photograph this INCREDIBLE Lone Tree (Settings + Editing)
Using a Drone for Photography is FANTASTIC! So many new and unique compositions!
In this video I finally photograph an incredible tree that would have been impossible to do on foot BUT thanks to my Drone it became possible! I go through the Drone Camera settings and then dive into Lightroom to create a HDR and finally into Photoshop and jump in and out of Topaz Studio 2 to create a painterly effect.
Hope you enjoy it
Glyn
