Perfect, Accurate Colour is vitally important in both Photography and Video.
In this short video I show how to use the Calibrite ColorChecker Passport Duo to achieve exactly this; a simple process that involves 1 extra photograph and just a few clicks in Lightroom …
How did I not know about this?
A setting in Lightroom Mobile that when turned on makes it possible for fantastic Long Exposure Photography ... handheld or on a Tripod by taking multiple photographs VERY quickly and blending them together!
With all the recent BIG updates I'm now able to do a lot more of the SAME things in Lightroom that only used to be possible in Photoshop BUT Quicker and Easier ! In this video I show 3 examples ... working on skin , changing color and creating new backgrounds and lighting effects…
Love Movies? Love Lightroom? Here's how you can QUICKLY and EASILY take the colour from a movie and add it to your own pictures using the Color Grading Panel …
Mornings like this take some beating …
Now that we’ve relocated , our favourite place of all ( Lyme Regis ) is literally just down the road and yesterday morning I headed down early to catch up with a friend (Steve Healy) that I’d not seen for quite some time.
With no agenda other than catching up , we walked along the sea front , sat on a bench looking out to see whilst drinking coffee and eating a delicious pork bap and took the occassional photograph … Steve with his Fuji kit and me with my iPhone.
Here’s a series of photographs taken wth my iPhone 11 Pro Max ( still waiting for the new iPhone 14 Pro Max to be in stock ) and editied in Lightroom Mobile … such a great , convenient combination
Bringing along just a small amount of kit , I also had my Insta 360 One X2 camera with me to capture some video. In a couple of days I have the new X3 arriving so I can’t wait to check out the quality difference.
The great thing about 360 cameras is that nothing gets missed … as you can see here 🤣
Once I get the new iPhone 14 Pro Max I intend to do a lot of photography around this coastlineand maybe look at adding some Lightroom Mobile editing videos on my YouTube Channel because this really is so much fun and makes photography even more accessible for everyone.
Cheers
Glyn
Lightroom recently received a BIG update with version 12.0 , BUT there's one update I WISH Adobe would add in ... an Amount Slider in the Colour Grading Tab.
In this video I explain WHY by using the Color Grading to add finishing touches to a photograph PLUS show a HACK for giving even more control …
I used Artificial Intelligence (A.I.) to not just REPAIR but also BUILD this 70 year old family photograph and in this video I show you how incredibly easy it was to do it using DALL-E , Photoshop and Topaz GigaPixel AI …
Jump Cuts ... Love them or Hate them? Great when used creatively but sometimes unavoidable ... or are they?
Here's 60 seconds showing how to fix them in Premiere Pro CC 👍🏻
Had to share this and to ask your thoughts...
So my most recent video which is only 9 minutes long is all about Color and which Color Space (sRGB , Adobe RGB , ProPhoto RGB ) to use for Photography ... Editing , Printing , Sharing , Posting on the Web ... Comments have been fantastic BUT one posted yesterday stopped me in my tracks; this is it...
Photoshop is for people who are engineering images.
Lightroom is for photographers who take the picture correctly the first time.
I disagree.
Lightroom is getting better and better. It's exciting to see the enhancements BUT there are things we can do in Lightroom now that only a short while agree would only have been possible in Photoshop; in fact, Lightroom's full name is ... Adobe Photoshop Lightroom.
We would always see and hear the “I like to get it right in camera” comments (well...don't we all?!?) but this made me think ... will we now start to see the 'I only edit in Lightroom' comments as being the modern day Put Down attempt ?
Images are edited.
They ALWAYS have been.
Even choosing a paper is (in my opinion) editing, because paper influences the look / feel of the final image.
Just a thought 🤔
Anyway, if you haven’t see my Color Space video, here it is …
Color is a HUGE topic! sRGB , Adobe RGB , ProPhoto RGB ... What to use, Why to use it and When?!?
In this video I explain it all for editing , printing , web and sharing so you get the very BEST and CONSISTENT results 🌈
